Parks Department

The Parks Department for the City of Hamilton is responsible for the tender loving care administered to all of the City’s open spaces and landscaped areas, including the beautiful and restful parks at Par-la-Ville and Victoria so enjoyed by the people of Hamilton.

Steven DeSilva heads up the Parks Department and he is proud of his team’s diligent efforts and green fingers being recognised by an award for the work they have done in the Par-la-Ville Park.

The Parks Department maintains its own nurseries where Steven and his team exercise their fine art of choosing the most appropriate types of plants for each location and for that particular local environment. The nurturing of the seedlings, their watering, care and maintenance are all in a day’s work for Steven and his team. Hamilton’s flowers and parks create our living environment.
